The Whitefish Chain is a hopping spot bordered by the classy town of Crosslake on the east, and just a couple miles from Pequot Lakes on the west. Here you’ll find the best of the best in fast boats, lakeshore estates, endless recreation on the water, and fun-loving people. You could probably think of it is the Lake Minnetonka of the North, since the lakefront real estate isn’t cheap, and you can travel from by boat into at least fourteen lakes – where you’ll find a wide variety of bars and restaurants to tie up to on your journey.
By car, there are plenty of interesting places to shop and eat in the towns around the lakes, like Cross Lake, Jenkins, Ideal Corners and Pequot Lakes. And with Brainerd only about twenty miles to the south, you won’t have to drive far for the larger necessities either.
Homes and cabins on the Whitefish Chain come in all sizes and models, from massive log structures to the hundred year old one bedroom cabin. But because of all the things to do here, prices are generally at a premium on the chain lakes of Lower Hay, Clamshell, Hen, Upper and Lower Whitefish, Pig, Arrowhead, Rush, Cross, Loon, Bertha, Pine, Big Trout, Dagget, and Island Lake. However, you can find a bit lower priced cabins in the many lakes just off the connected lakes, and in communities like Fifty Lakes, Emily and Outing just to the north and east.
