Greater St Cloud Lakes
The Greater St Cloud Region encompasses a large geographic area extending out in all directions from the city of St. Cloud, and just over an hour northwest of Minneapolis. There is abundance of waterfront real estate in the region, set into several different pockets of lakes. To the northwest you will find quite a few year-round lake homes near Avon, easily accessible to St. Cloud, and more options for lake cabins on a wide variety of good quality lakes as you keep heading toward Melrose, Swanville and Grey Eagle. To the southwest near Cold Spring and Richmond is the highly developed Horseshoe Chain of Lakes, which provides many opportunities to live on the water full time and commute into the city. Just a bit further down the road are the larger water bodies of Rice Lake and Lake Koronis. You will also find ample riverfront real estate on the Mississippi River flowing through St. Cloud.
