Detroit Lakes Region
The mid-western portion of Minnesota around Detroit Lakes is made up of nearly limitless lakes dotting the landscape. Many of these prime lakes in the southwest corner of Becker County have over ten feet of water clarity, and several like Big Cormorant Lake, Height of Land Lake and Detroit Lake offer over 3,000 acres of recreational opportunities. With great proximity to Fargo/Moorhead, and with a lack of lakes to the west, the area is an attractive escape for residents along the North Dakota border.
